Debra Lindsey-Taliefero
joined the Department
of Finance, International
Business and Insurance
in 1987, after serving
as Economist for Defense
Consultant, Anser,
Inc. at the Federal
Emergency Management
Agency, the National
Urban League and the
Washington Bureau of
the NAACP. Her
primary research areas
of interest include:
Consumer Credit, Racial
Discrimination in Mortgage
and Auto Finance Lending,
and Black Consumer
Demand Analysis for
Luxury Automobiles. She
has taught: Microeconomics
for Business, and Managerial
Economics. Lindsey
has served as: Project
Manager and Chief Economist
for the Freddie Mac’s
CreditSmart Curriculum
at Howard University. Lindsey
has published in the
Journal of Studies
in Economics and Financing,
Journal of Marketing
Theory and Practice,
Journal of Research
in Minority Affairs,
International Advances
in Economic Research,
Mortgage Banking Magazine,
and the CRA Bulletin,
She currently serves
as: a member
of the Editorial Board
for the Journal Research
on Minority Affairs,
a member of the Advisory
Council for the American
Society for Competitiveness,
Advisor of the Golden
Key Honor Society,
and a member for the
Executive Board for
the National Economic
Association. She
has received a number
of wards including
Professor of the Year
for the MBA Program
School of Business
in 2004 and 2005 at
Howard University,
Washington, DC. Lindsey-Taliefero
holds a Ph.D., an MA,
and a BA from Howard
University, Washington,
