Admission Requirements
To be considered for admission to Howard University's undergraduate
programs, the prospective student must submit the following to
the Office of Admissions:
- An official secondary school transcript
- Results from the College Board Admissions Testing Program (ATP),
Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), or American College Test (ACT)
- A general admissions application (available from the Office of
Admissions)
- $45.00 application fee
- Applicants should request that their SAT test scores be sent
to the Office of Admissions; the Howard University code number
is 5297.
Undergraduate Grade Requirements
Students applying as Freshman to any undergraduate program within
the School of Business must meet the following minimum grade requirements:
- A combined score of 1020 on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT),
or an ACT score of at least 22.
- A 2.5 cumulative High School Grade Point Average (GPA).
Students also are expected to have completed at the secondary level
the following courses with the assigned unit requirements:
- 4 units of English
- 2 units of Science
- 2 units of Mathematics
- 2 units of Social Science
- 2 units of Foreign Language
- 3 units of any other academic course counted toward graduation
Undergraduate Transfer Students
Undergraduate students transferring to the School of Business must
have earned 30 semester credits with 3.0 GPA.
Intra-University Transfer Students
Students transferring to the School of Business from other units
within the University must have earned at least 30 semester credit
hours with a 3.0 GPA.
The School of Business will admit under a special admission program
a small percentage of students who do not meet the minimum requirements
and encourages the application of students with a superior grade
point average.

International Student
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Prospective International students must submit the following items:
- Application for Admission with US$45 (Non refundable Application
Fee by the deadline stated on the inside cover of the Application
for Admission.
- Application for Housing with US$50 (refundable) Housing Fee by
the deadline stated on the Application for Housing.
- Certified documents -- CSC, CXC, GCE, WASC, CGSE -- or final
secondary student records, university transcripts, mark sheets,
official translations, and course syllabi or catalogs.
- SAT or ACT scores -- tests are administered at the US Embassy
in the home country -- for undergraduate applicants. (College transfer
students and holders of GCE "A" Level Certificates
are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores, If you are applying
to the School of Business and are a holder of a GCE "A" level
Certificate, you must take the SAT or ACT.).
- Statement of Financial Resources and supporting financial documentation
indicating sources of funds while attending Howard University.
Students will receive the I-20 Immigration Form with their Permits
to Register after they have been accepted, paid the US$300 Enrollment
Fee, and submitted the Financial Resources Form.
Prospective international students must meet the following requirements
- Have a satisfactory score on the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) for applicants from countries in which English
is not the official language
- Show proof of availability to provide their own financial support
(sufficient funds to cover expenses for on full year). (Some financial
aid may be available after one year of study. However, enrollment
beyond one year does not guarantee scholarships or other sources
of financial aid. For additional information applicants should
contact the department in which they plan to pursue their studies.
- Pursue a full course of study (a minimum of 12 credit hours per
semester for undergraduate students). Modifying this requirement
(INS regulation F-1 and J-1 visa categories) may jeopardize immigration
status
