Dr. Byron Henry joined the School of Business in 1997 after
serving as Senior Accountant at Ernst & Whinney, Tax Auditor
at Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, and Assistant State
Auditor at Texas State Auditor’s Office. His primary
research areas of interest include: Reporting Practices
of Nonprofit Organizations, Ethical perceptions of Accounting
and Business Practices, Accounting Education, and Corporate
Governance among Nonprofit Organizations. Henry acted
as Faculty Advisor at the KPMG/NABA Student Case Competition
in 2004 and 2005 (teams placed 1st and 2nd respectively). He
has taught: Accounting Principles I, Accounting Principles
II, Nonprofit Accounting, and Management Accounting. Henry
holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Texas A&M University,
a MACCY from George Washington University, and a BBA in Accounting
from the University of Texas at Austin.
