Dr. Mohamed Warsame joined the School of
Business in 2006. His primary research areas of interest
include: Emerging Markets, International Financial
Reporting Standards, and Earnings Management. He has
received a number of awards including: Boshurun Abiola
Prize in Accounting and Finance from the University of Strathclyde
at Glascow, UK, and an Illinois Institute Technology Alumni
Award for Academic Excellence. Warsame has presented
at the Annual African Investment Conference held in 2000
at Cape Town South Africa, and at the American Accounting
Association’s North East Conference held in 2004 at
Albany, New York. He has taught: Financial Accounting,
Management Accounting, Personal Finance, Principles of Accounting,
Investments, Managerial Finance, and Advanced Financial Management. Warsame
holds a Ph.D. Dissertation defended and conferred in
2006, an MSc in Finance from the University of Strathclyde,
Glascow, U.K., and a BSc (high honors) in Business Administration
with a major in Finance and a minor in Accounting from Illinois
Institute of Technology, Chicago Illinois. Warsame
has also achieved his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation,
and was awarded the right to use the Chartered Financial
Analyst (CFA) designation.
