Dr. Sam Ziorklui joined the Department of Finance, International Business and Insurance in 1984, after serving as Graduate Teaching Fellow at Howard University Department of Economics, ad Teacher at Dzelukope Ghana Educational Service Senior Secondary School.  His primary research areas of interest include: Portfolio Theory/Application and Mean Variance Dichotomy, Event Studies and Stock Returns, Globalization of Financial Markets and the International Capital Asset Pricing Model, Financial Sector Reforms and Banking Efficiency in Developing Countries, and Capital Market Development and Growth in Emerging Economies.  He has taught:  Principles of Financial Markets and Institutions, Finance Principles, Investment Principles, Commercial Banking, Computer Application of Financial Analysis, Theory of Financing, and Financial Management.  Ziorklui has served as: Reviewer of Research Grant Proposal for the National Science Foundation, Reviewer of the New Course Development by Iowa Electronic Markets on Stock Valuation and Personal Finance and Portfolio Management, and a Former Member of the HU Faculty Senate.  Ziorklui has been awarded several research grants.  He has also developed a new course in Computer Application of Financial Analysis.  Ziorklui holds a Ph.D. in Monetary Economics from Howard University, an MBA from the University of Texas, and a BSc. (hons) in Economics from the University of Ghana.
