Dr. Daniel N. Owunwanne joined the Department of Information
Systems & Decision Sciences in 2003, after serving as
Adjunct Professor at the University of the District of Columbia,
Washington DC, and Instructor at Elizabeth City State University,
NC. His primary research areas of interest include: Data
Interoperability in Federated Distributed Database Systems,
and Software Implemented Fault Tolerance. His awards
include: a Software Engineering Certificate from Georgia
State University and a Computer Science Fellowship from NASA,
Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia. Owunwanne
is a member of a number of professional organizations including: Interface
of North America and Classification Society of North America,
International Digital Business Academy, Virginia Academy
of Science, Association of Computing Machinery, Special Interest
Group on Computer Graphics, and National Association of Mathematics. He
has taught: Database Management, Systems Analysis and
Design, Information Structures, Management Information Systems,
and Computer Introduction. Owunwanne holds a Ph.D.
from George Mason University, VA, a MS from Howard University,
Washington DC, and a BS from State University College, NY.
