INFORMATION SYSTEMS & DECISION SCIENCES
Dr. Mohammad Quasem joined the Department
of Information Systems & Decision Sciences in 1987, after
serving as Department Representative to Graduate Student
Society at the University of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Quasem
has also served as Vice President of North America Bangladesh
Statistical Association (NABSA). He has also been a
member of the following institutions: the American
Statistical Association, the Statistical Association, and
The Institute of Operations Research and Management Sciences.
His primary areas of interest include: Stochastic Models
of Unreliable Production Line with Continuous Materials Flow,
Reliability and Quality Control, Linear Models, Multivariate
Analysis, and Outsourcing. Quasem has received several
awards and distinctions including: Certificate in Personalities
of the South for Contribution in the Education Profession,
Inclusion in Personalities of the South, Fourteenth Edition,
1989-1990, “Who’s Who in the International Biographical
Center, England, 8th Edition, International Curator
Grant from the University of Columbia, Missouri, Best Statistical
Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement by the Statistical
Society, Karachi, Pakistan, Father Fought Grant, University
of Windsor, Canada, First in Class with Distinction in Master
of Science in Statistics, University of Karachi, and a recipient
of Merit Scholarship, University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Quasem
has presented more than 50 research articles in regional,
national, and International conferences, and has published
18 articles in Refereed Journals and Proceedings. He
has taught: Production Operations Management, Quantitative
Business Analysis, Data Analysis, and Statistics. Quasem
holds a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia,
Missouri, an MS in Mathematics from the University of Windsor,
a MSc in Statistics from the University of Karachi, Bangladesh,
and a BSc (hons.) from the University of Rajshahi, Bangladesh.
