Dr. Raymond Smith joined the Department of Management in 1997, after serving as Assistant Professor at Towson State University.  His primary research areas of interest include:  Business Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Minority Entrepreneurship.  Smith has received several awards including: the 2003 John Jack Best Paper Award from the U.S. Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Best Paper on Motor Carrier Topic 1986 Transportation Research Forum from the National Academy of Sciences, and recognition as one of UMCP’s Best Instructors from the University of Maryland.  He has taught:  Business Policy (Graduate), Strategic Management, and Management and Organizational Behavior.  He holds a Ph.D., an MBA and a BS (Hons.) in Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park, MD.
