Dr. Pravat Choudhury, Professor and Chair of the Marketing Department, joined the department in 1974, after serving as Assistant Professor at Johnson C. Smith University, and California State University.  His primary research areas of interest include:  Minority Earnings, Cross Cultural Research, International Marketing, and Marketing Strategies.  He has also co-authored several refereed published papers.  His publications include two books:  Marketing to Ethnic Consumers, and Pricing Policies and Strategies.  Choudhury has made several professional presentations, and is a member of several professional organizations including:  American Marketing Association, American Institution for Decision Sciences, Association for Consumer Research, Atlantic Marketing Association, S.E Decision Science, and International Academy of Business Disciplines.  He has received several awards and distinctions including:  Academic Research Excellence Grant from Howard University, and recognition as Outstanding Track Chairperson of Marketing & International Business from the International Association of Business Disciplines.  He has taught:  Marketing Strategy, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Management.  Choudhury holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and an MS in Marketing from the University of California, Los Angeles, California, an MBA in International Business from Atlanta University, Atlanta, Georgia, an LLB in Corporate Law from Ranchi University, Ranchi, Bihar, and a B.Comm. in Accounting from the Bihar University, Patna, Bihar.  Choudhury has also participated in several leadership series including: Total Quality Management Seminars.
